Success in School

Being able to get a visa to study abroad in US is a very tough thing for many Vietnamese students. Therefore, students should make a right decision looking for schools that interest and benefit them for their future careers.

In U.S, there are hundreds of universities and colleges – either public or private schools. Each school has many different departments, but does not necessarily include all majors. Now, the question is:

Which school should I apply for and how good is the school at my major?

In fact, choosing a good school depends on some factors:

  1. GPA (grade point average)
  2. Tuition fee (Usually public schools are more expensive, but famous)
  3. Admission tests

·        Undergraduate: TOEFL, SAT…

·        Graduate: TOEFL, GMAT, GRE…

·        Some schools require extra tests such as: oral tests or English proficiency tests…

      4.   Activities and or honors

Better schools require higher academic performance of students. Of course, tuition fee is more expensive, but students have a good chance to get financial aids or scholarships.

A good advice is students should surf the website, visit the school that interest you and then find out its requirements for admission. Sometimes, it’s also a good idea to ask your friends or teachers.
